As Leigh Hunt said, “Colors are the smiles of nature”.
Color forms part of an electromagnetic spectrum, which in its purest form is energy. Each color has a specific wavelength and each affects our mind and body in a different way.
Using your right colors and matching them “correctly” (or in a harmonious way), will affect your mood and how people around you feel. So you have the possibility of boosting your mood in a completely natural way, by wearing specific colors that suit and illuminate you!
Recently on our Instagram account we have been publishing “vintage” images of fashion? Why? Because color was embraced completely in the 1970s. Women looked colorful, strong and glamorous. Photographers like Helmut Newton, Patrick Demarchelier or Richard Avedon empowered women through their photographies, and the feminine strength and confidence that came through.
Fashion was all about freedom, a variety of colors, eclectic looks and a tendency to mix and match different styles with each other. This was inspired, among others, by the emergence of subcultures of hippies, bohemians and punks, and above all, an era of expression of individuality, creativity and color.
Let’s be inspired by the 70s then, though not necessarily with the flared trouser or fringes, but at least in terms of color, individuality and creativity. We only live once!
